How the mosquito killer works!

After initial ignition, the MosquitoEater™ uses a flameless catalytic process to produce heat and carbon dioxide from the Gas. As it is the main constituent of exhaled breath carbon dioxide is a strong attractant for mosquito’s, especially when it is at body temperature.
Before being emitted from the machine the produced carbon dioxide is passed over a specially formulated bait, which scents the gas and makes it even more attractive to mosquito’s.

Using thermoelectric materials, heat energy from the catalytic process is used to generate electricity which powers the MosquitoEater™ suction fan that sucks the insects into a net when they approach the machine. (No external Electricity required)

Once the MosquitoEater™ is switched on it should be left to run continuously so that insects are drawn to the machine whenever they emerge, rather than to the people on whom they would like to feed.

In addition to ensuring that the carbon dioxide is warm enough to mimic exhaled breath, the heat produced by the catalytic burning of the gas is also used to generate the electricity needed by the MosquitoEater™ to power its suction fans. Consequently the MosquitoEater™ does not require any external electrical power-supply, thus aiding its portability.

Gas cylinders are attached to the MosquitoEater™ with simple clip-on regulators and, under normal circumstances, a 13kg cylinder will provide enough gas to keep the MosquitoEater™ running for approximately one month. (1 gas cylinder lasts approx 1 month)
The only routine maintenance that the machine requires is changing of the disposable bag when it is full and of the Gas cylinder when it is empty.

The MosquitoEater™ works by mimicking a large animal, emitting carbon dioxide mixed with a special scented bait which makes the mosquito think that it has found a bovine meal. However, mosquito’s which follow the plume of carbon dioxide to its source find only the MosquitoEater™ .

The MosquitoEater™ draws mosquito’s towards it using a plume of harmless carbon dioxide. The machine mimics a large animal. When mosquito’s fly towards it they are expecting a tasty blood meal.

The MosquitoEater™ then sucks them into a disposable bag. - no insecticides are used.
For best results the bag should be changed when 1/2 to 3/4 full. The additional bag should then be attached to the unit to attain continual use. The occupied bag should be tied using the draw string then left for around 24 hours, preferably in a sealed bag, then the contents should be disposed of in a responsible manner, e.g. on a compost heap, etc. The MosquitoEater™ does not need to be switched off when changing bags, as mosquito’s are not drawn into the trap while the door is open. If preferred the bag can be washed and re-used.

Change of tablet

It is recommended to change the bait sachet every 4 weeks when the gas cylinder is changed.
